ExpressNS Damage Reporting

One Monday, May 13, 2019, Norfolk Southern will begin piloting equipment damage reporting using the ExpressNSTM mobile application at the Kansas City Intermodal Facility. Drivers using the latest version of ExpressNSTM, v3.6, will be able to use the app to take and submit images of damaged containers and trailers.

After the ExpressNSTM outgate mission is completed, drivers and subscribed dispatchers will receive an emailed gate interchange receipt (J1) which will include any pictures taken of damaged equipment. Gate receipts and damage images can also be viewed by using the J1 Gate Receipts application located in Quick Functions in ExpressNSTM. During the pilot damage images will not be available in AccessNS.  

Damage reporting through ExpressNSTM is restricted to containers and trailers and drivers will not be able the use the app to report chassis damage. Drivers should continue to report all chassis related damage to Roadability or at the Drivers Assistance Window. Instructions on how to report container and trailer damage using ExpressNSTM are provided in the attached document.

Drivers can download the ExpressNSTM mobile application from the App Store or Google Play Store by searching for ExpressNS. Once the application is downloaded, first-time users must click the link to register for access using their assigned Norfolk Southern driver code.
