Tropical Storm Sally

Sep 12, 2020

Tropical Storm Sally is moving across southern Florida and will move into the Gulf of Mexico later this evening. It is expected to strengthen into a hurricane before landfall over the south-eastern coast of Louisiana or southern Mississippi on Tuesday.

The Flood Protection Authority advised Norfolk Southern the floodgates that impede the flow of NS rail traffic into and out of New Orleans will close at noon on Monday, September 14th.  In preparation for the storm, the New Orleans Intermodal facility will also close on Monday, September 14th.

Norfolk Southern will continue to closely monitor the storm and provide updates as it progresses.

We encourage drivers to take advantage of our ExpressNSTMMobile Application which streamlines gate and terminal processes for our drayage community. With ExpressNSTM, drivers can verify billing, submit pre-gate information, obtain parking and pickup locations, receive electronic interchange receipts, and submit bad order information.
