Responsibilities of the Diversity Council
The Norfolk Southern Diversity Council assists the organization's efforts to create a more inclusive and productive workplace. Responsibilities of the Council include:
- Identifying key issues and recommending ways in which NS can further diversity within the organization.
- Assisting the company in implementing diversity initiatives.
- Communicating with employees on the status of the established goals and objectives.
- Serving as a liaison to community groups and referral sources.
- Developing criteria for awards recognizing employee efforts in diversity.
- Reporting efforts to the chairman and senior management.
