My son Dennis Murton is currently on active duty. He entered the army in July 2002 at the age of 17. He as spent one year in Korea, has been in Iraq for more than 24 months and is expected to return February 2006. He felt a need to serve after 9/11. His MOS, or job, is “airborne 63S” which is a heavy duty Wheel/Track Mechanic. His unit is deployed out of Fort Carson, Colo.

His awards are Bronze Star for action under fire, while currently serving in the Middle East, Army Achievement Medal 1st award from a tour in Korea, National Defense Ribbon, Global War on Terror Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and several certificates of Commendation and Achievements. After returning home his goal is to go to college.
